Acetaldehyde is an industrial chemical, as well as one found in nature.

• It is used in the manufacturing of perfumes, flavors, aniline dyes, plastics, synthetic rubber and many other items.
• In nature, it is found in most fruits and vegetables, and is also present in all fermented products.

Acetaldehyde has a general narcotic manifestation, with all the symptoms of chronic intoxication and its "hangover" symptoms, etc.  This chemical is also thought to be an important toxic by-product of Candida.

Aspartame is composed of aspartic acid and the methyl ester of phenylalanine, and is available under numerous brand names, such as NutraSweet, Equal and the like.

Aspartame is broken down, in the small intestine, into methanol ("wood" alcohol), at about 10% by weight.  It them metabolizes into formaldehyde.  A sensitivity to formaldehyde creates a broad range of symptoms; most recognizably, the classic vise-grip-at-the-temples headache.  This, then, is turned into formate, which is quickly eliminated as CO2 and water.

Studies have shown that about 5% of the population are sensitive to aspartame; but, it is considered dangerous only for people with Phenylketonuria (PKU).  However, over the years since it's appearance on the market, people who have used aspartame have presented numerous complaints about symptoms they suffer after ingesting it.  These symptoms may include:

Candida Albicans is a dimorphic yeast fungus, existing in the gut of many forms of animal life.  It can be found existing, with slightly less vigor, in the environment.

For humans, it's probably the most insidious opportunistic pathogen.  It has the capability of causing so much disruption to normal immune response, that its presence can be "invisible" to the INTERRO.

The inclination to use Candida would be justified by history.  Candida was included in this phenolics list because of its ability to circumvent the natural barriers to the absorption and detoxification of phenolics.  This results in a flood of symptoms.

Cortisol is the primary glucocorticoid produced by the cortex of the adrenal gland.  Its principle physiological actions are:

Indole is one of the principle growth hormones in higher plants, in the form of Indole-3-acetic acid (IAA).

To the herbivore, Indole is mildly toxic — if not for the bacterial flora of the intestinal tract.  For non-ruminants (such as humans), who have difficulty with Indole, its main effect appears to be intestinal, as it causes bloating and constipation.

Octopamine is an amino acid found in mammalian nerve cells.  In invertebrate sea-life, it is quite significant, and is thought to function as an adrenalin component.  In insects, it is a neurotransmitter.
