StemEnhance™ is a truly remarkable product that has, since its release in November 2005, demonstrated its amazing benefits to a growing number of users.  But what is it that makes it so helpful to your health?  And is there any scientific data to support what is reported?

Just what is StemEnhance™?

StemEnhance™ is a breakthrough product, made of 100%-natural extracts from Aphanizomenon flos-aquae (AFA), an aquatic botanical that grows naturally in a pristine lake in southern Oregon.  It's certified organic; wildcrafted and produced by an organic-certified facility.

• The AFA in StemEnhance™ is not farmed or manipulated in any way.
• It has no genetic modifications.

For more than two decades, Aphanizomenon flos-aquae (AFA) has been widely-consumed in its whole state.  This natural botanical was found to control inflammation, support the immune system and improve mental clarity and mental energy.

Over the past few years, STEMTech's scientific team has identified and isolated the various components in AFA responsible for its various health benefits.  These include:

• phenylethylamine (PEA), responsible for providing a feeling of mental energy,
• phycocyanin, responsible for the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties,
• a polysaccharide, responsible for supporting the immune system, and
• an L-selectin ligand, responsible for supporting the release of stem cells from the bone marrow.

StemEnhance™ is a 5:1 concentrate, that blends two compounds extracted from of AFA.  One extract, containing an L-selectin ligand, supports the natural release of stem cells (CD34+ cells) from the bone marrow.  The other extract, a polysaccharide-rich fraction named Migratose™, may support the migration of stem cells out of the blood and into stressed tissues.

Formulated specifically to support stem cell physiology; StemEnhance™ also concentrates other compounds unique to AFA, bringing unique support for the whole body.

StemEnhance™: The first in a new class of phytoceuticals

StemEnhance™ is a unique product, the first of the latest phytoceutical product category called "stem cell enhancers".  It has been issued a US Patent, pertaining to the use of AFA to support stem cell physiology.  A second, Composition Patent, pertaining to the specific components in AFA responsible for stem cell support, has been filed.

StemEnhance™ Serving Size and Ingredients Labeling

Serving size: A serving of StemEnhance™ consists of 2 capsules (500 mg each), providing you with 1 gram of cyanophyta extracts. 

In studies conducted by STEMTech's scientific team, StemEnhance™ was always taken in the morning.  However, it is quite possible that it might bring greater benefits when taken before sleep, as the body tends to regenerate better during sleep. This being said, it still remains to be studied.

Ingredients: StemEnhance™ consists of two ingredients, extracted from the same plant, Aphanizomenon flos-aquae (AFA).  At times, carrageenan, a seaweed extract, is used in small amounts, as a processing aid.

Carotenoids and proteins are also naturally present in StemEnhance™ in significant amounts.  Since labeling laws require the listing of any nutrient found in an amount greater than 2% of the daily recommendation, carotenoids are listed (as vitamin A, because they are measured as retinal equivalent).

The ingredients are listed in the Supplement Fact box of the label, as stipulated by the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 (DSHEA, pronounced du-shay).

What is the science behind StemEnhance™?

The effect of StemEnhance™ on stem cells was tested in a triple-blind study.

In brief, to establish the baseline level of circulating stem cells, volunteers rested for one hour before providing a first blood sample.  The number of circulating stem cells was quantified by analyzing the blood samples using Fluorescence-Activated Cell Sorting (FACS).  After that sample was drawn, volunteers were given either StemEnhance™ or a placebo.  Blood samples were again taken at 30, 60 and 120 minutes after taking the consumables. 

Consumption of StemEnhance™ triggered a significant (25%) increase in the number of circulating stem cells.

Solid documentation of structure and function claims

StemTech's scientific team has solidly documented the structure and function claim that StemEnhance™ supports the natural release of stem cells from the bone marrow, thereby assisting the body in maintaining optimal health.  However, since it is a dietary supplement, not a drug, STEMTech HealthSciences, Inc and its distributors cannot make any health claims.  Even well-documented, single patient outcomes cannot be published, since they could be construed as inferred health claims.

However, clinical studies are currently in progress, involving specific organs and systems, to further document the mechanics of stem cell physiology, and these studies will eventually be published.
